The love of old cars has sent many men and women scurrying out to their local junk yard, souring the Internet, and making phone calls around the country finding the perfect parts for what the neighbors call that old junker, but what the car enthusiast calls a work of art. Project classic cars can take the most introverted person talk endlessly and excitedly about their current undertaking.
When it comes to classic cars they are viewed in two ways. One is as an investment and another is as a labor of love. There is no right or wrong to that point of view, and in general it does not change the enthusiasm of the person who is renovating a car. Networking, just like you would for a business, will help you get the word out for a part or body that you might be looking for. Don't be shy about handing out cards with your phone number and email address so they can reach you if something that you want comes available.
Often project classic cars means that you are building a car essentially from scratch. This kind of involvement creates a connection with the car and there is something about making something yourself that fills you with pride and excitement about what you are doing.
