Welcome to Old Cars Cheap. As well as being a showcase for my own personal old car projects, past and present, oldcarscheap.com will be a free resource of old cars for sale, muscle cars for sale, classic car auctions, and used car parts.

I have over 10 years experience buying, selling, and restoring old classic cars. I am putting together old cars cheap in a way that I would use it, I hope, as a result that old cars cheap is as useful to you as it is to me. Please be patient while this site is developed. Ebay has turned out to be the most valuable resource for myself, and I believe you will find it very valuable as well. After years of using local classifieds, and auto traders, I have found the best deals to buy old cars cheap is right on ebay. The reason is simply the selection of old cars you have to choose from. There are always going to be people asking too much, or over valuing there old cars, but there are also as many who are either looking to liquid their old cars cheap. It is all a numbers game people. The average auction lasts 7 days, every day there are new cars list, and many of them are old cars cheap!

If you are looking for a 1969 Camero for example, there are 150 listed at the time of this post, yes 150! The prices are ranging from $1200 to $70,000. In 7 days from now, there will be 150 different 1969 Camero's listed! This is a huge opportunity for someone looking for old cars cheap. Sure there will be number of them that are not good deal, in fact probably the majority, but that's OK. On average you will find a handful of old cars cheap each week.

My advice is to be patient. If you know exactly what type of car you are looking for, check back every few days for the new listings. You will find the car you are looking for at the best price with patients. The nice thing about eBay, is that it is an auction. Don't be afraid to place a bid for the price you want to pay for your muscle or classic car. The worst that can happen, is you get outbid, no big deal, you either wait for the next one, or decide if you are willing to pay more.

If you have ever tried to search on eBay directly, you can be overwhelmed with the search results. Searching for a 1969 Camaro for instance, will bring up lots of die-cast models, parts, etc as well as the cars. Old Cars Cheap has an algorithm that filters to only actual cars for sale (unless you use the parts section) This makes the search much easier. You can either with the click of a button, see all the cars for sale by year, or by make, and even right down to model for the more popular makes. Alternatively, you can use the search bar at the top of the page and type in exactly what you are looking for (ie: "1969 Camaro") and you will be provided with a list of all the 1969 Camaros, and that's it!

Buying old cars for sale cheap online can be intimidating, after all you are forking out your hard earned money to purchase a car that you may not of seen in person yet. How do you know the person you are buying from is being honest with you? There are several security measures in place. First of all, eBay has a feedback score to tell you how this particular seller has done in the past. You can click on the number in parentheses next to their user ID to see the feedback profile. Feedback is left after each transaction has completed. For each positive feedback there is 1 point added, to each negative 1 is subtracted, and a neutral is neither. It is important to check a sellers feedback profile, you are able to view comments left from previous people who have bought or sold to this individual. There may also be a star next to the sellers name, a star is awarded for a feedback score of 10 or more. A yellow star is 10-49 points, blue is 50 to 99, and it goes on. You can only receive 1 feedback point per eBay member. This means you could have 10 positive transactions with one person, but you will only receive 1 point. For example: My feedback score on bay is 77, and I have a blue star next to my name. Even though I have more then 77 positive transactions (and zero negative) on eBay, my score is only 77 since I have purchased from the same vendors before.

The eBay feedback system has worked very well for me in the past. It takes a long time, a lot of work, and a lot of transactions to build up your feedback sore, one negative feedback can destroy your reputation online. Most sellers will avoid this at all costs. All sellers I have dealt with, who have a high positive feedback score, I have found will go out of their way to make you happy, it is in both of your best interests.

What if you have found the perfect old car for sale cheap on eBay, but the seller is new, or has a low feedback score?

You use an escrow service. The only escrow service that is approved by eBay is Escrow.com. Escrow.com reduces the potential risk of fraud by acting as a trusted third party that collects, holds and disburses funds according to Buyer and Seller instructions. Escrow services are provided by a licensed and regulated escrow company. Once a price has been established you make the payment to the escrow company, and terms are agreed to. You can inspect the car, and make sure it is as described. Only after you approve the inspection of the car, the funds are released to the seller.
